Whether you are traveling through or a life-long native in Texas, Dallas-Fort Worth and its surrounding areas offer incredible options to create the engagement moment of your dreams.


As you review this list, consider: What feels true to who you are as a couple? How unique would you like for the engagement to be? What would be most meaningful to your future spouse?

Walk around the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden. This tops most lists from those who recommend ideas for the best proposal places in Dallas and there’s 66 reasons why: the garden spans across 66 acres! The Arboretum and Botanical Garden offers a variety of outdoor features and unique exhibits.

It’s a great place for a day-date where you can walk around and decide to propose at a spot that feels right, from a beautiful fountain to the middle of a lush field of tulips. Get cultural at the Japanese Garden in the Fort Worth Botanic Garden. If you’re looking for another garden option, the Botanic Garden is worth researching. They offer a variety of experiences, from the Rose Garden to the Rock Springs Woods, but our favorite is the Japanese Garden.

If you or your significant other come from an Asian background or have a passion for the Asian culture, this is a great location to propose (without having to take a plane ride!) General admission is $12 per person. Learn more.


Snap a picture in the Bluebonnets in Spring throughout various locations in Dallas. There isn’t anything that screams ‘Texan engagement’ more than photos in the bluebonnets. If you’re planning a spring proposal (between late May to the middle of July), snap photos together in the bluebonnets and then get down on one knee!


Visit the Tandy Hills Natural Area in Fort Worth. If you both love Mother Nature and spend a lot of time outside together, the Tandy Hills offer 160 acres of prairie land that can be incredibly private and romantic. You can propose under a big tree, in front of rolling hills, or during one of their special events like the ‘Star Party’. (It’s also a perfect spot for an engagement photoshoot!) Learn more.

Propose near the water at White Rock Lake. White Rock Late Park is one of the prettiest parks in the Dallas area. It continues to be built out with a variety of fun options, from a 9-mile hiking trail to a pier with an awesome view.

Pack a picnic with celebratory champagne or eat afterwards at one of the restaurants in the area. Learn more.

Get glammed up for drinks at The Dragonfly Kitchen at Hotel ZaZa in Dallas.

This is one of our favorite proposal places in Dallas. Located in Uptown, the Dragonfly offers American fine dining options throughout the day along with a full bar. The ambiance is very romantic and suitable for you to get dressed up for a night on the town.

And since it’s located in a hotel, you can take it over the top with a planned overnight stay to celebrate the engagement. Reservation recommended. Learn more.


Enjoy views of the city at a rooftop Dallas bar. There are many glamorous hotels in the Dallas area that offer options for varied dining experiences. A special way to propose (without being overly fancy or complex) would be to go out for cocktails at a rooftop bar that overlooks the city.

You don’t have to have a cookie-cutter proposal so here are some proposal places in Dallas that are one of a kind.


Get cooking at The Cookery. If you want to create a shared unforgettable experience, reserve two seats in a cooking class with your significant other. Classes include “Evening in Paris”, “A Cocktail Party” and “Pasta Perfecto!” Average price is $100 per person and it’s recommended that you book early because the popular classes have a wait list. If walking, eating and drinking (all while sightseeing) sounds like fun to you then consider going on a walking tour!
