There is so much that Orlando has to offer a couple who is looking to get engaged. Here are engagement ideas to get you feeling inspired, from our local team in Orlando, Florida.
From Disney-tastic proposal moments, non-stop fun at a variety of theme parks, and plenty of beautiful outdoor and nature-filled experiences, we’ve hand selected the twelve best proposal places in Orlando.
And if you need someone to help capture the experience, we're here for you (right behind the camera!)
Orlando is the perfect place for a fairytale proposal. With plenty of theme park and entertainment options wrapped up in whimsical themes, there are a variety of ways to create a magical moment.
Make her feel like Cinderella by proposing in front of Cinderella’s Castle at Walt Disney World Resort. Could we have a list of ‘best proposal places in Orlando’ and not include this?! This is the iconic proposal photo that you typically see across Instagram if you search for hashtags like #orlandoengagement or #disneyproposal. Just because it’s been done before, doesn’t mean it won’t be special. If you and your spouse-to-be are big fans of all things Disney then this is the perfect spot to propose. Want something a little more private? Cinderella’s Wishing Well has benches around it with the castle still in view! Park tickets required. Prices will vary depending on how many parks and days are included in your purchase. Learn more.
Get down on one knee in front of the Tree of Life in Pandora at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. If you want to take in the magic that Disney offers without Mickey Mouse in attendance, visit Disney’s Animal Kingdom. When you enter the World of Avatar, you will be stopped in your tracks by the magical trees and floating mountains. It literally feels like you’ve been transported into the movie, Avatar, and the luminescent lights that turn on at sunset are incredible. Propose under the Tree of Life and then take the memory over the top with a visit to the Maharajah Jungle Trek or Kilimanjaro Safaris. To continue the theme, tie animals into your honeymoon by going on a real safari! Park tickets required. Prices will vary depending on how many parks and days are included in your purchase. Learn more.
Propose when the sun is setting at Disney’s BoardWalk. With a quarter-mile of entertainment, dining, and activities (for night or day), the BoardWalk is one of the best proposal places in Orlando. Create a magical moment over the Key Lime Tart from the Boardwalk Bakery or put the ring on the Charcuterie Plate at the Abracadabra Bar. It’s special without feeling too formal and there will be plenty of things to do afterwards to celebrate the engagement. COVID-19 restrictions have impacted a lot of businesses here so check in advance for their latest events and activities offerings before you go. Learn more.
Act like you’re picking up a golf ball but pull the ring out of your pocket at Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course. If you’re both into sports and fans of Disney but you’re looking for a more unique and surprising engagement, propose while playing a round of golf. This course is named after its beautiful magnolia trees and has some unexpected flair, like Disney Character-themed refreshment carts! This champion style 18-hole course located at Disney’s Polynesian Resort Village was rated 4 stars by Golf Digest. If you choose to propose here, then golf will forever be a special activity. You can also then add special nods to the sport at your engagement photoshoot or wedding! Golf attire and reservations are required. Learn more.

While the home of Disney is Orlando, there are other park options that may be better for your personal love story.
Pop the question in front of Hogwarts Castle in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal's Islands of Adventure. If wizards are more your speed than princesses, spend the day taking in all the magic of the village of Hogsmeade at Universal’s Islands of Adventure. Propose in front of Hogwarts castle, while walking down High Street, or enjoying a glass of Butterbeer! Plan in advance for even more romance because some evenings feature The Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle. If you’re Universal Park-to-Park ticketholders, then you can hop on Hogwarts Express and visit Diagon Alley to celebrate. Park tickets required. Prices will vary depending on how many parks and days are included in your purchase. Learn more.
Get to the top of The Wheel at ICON Park. Orlando’s famous Observation wheel will allow you to experience Orlando in a way that nothing else will, from 400 feet in the air! Since the ride is 18 minutes long, it also guarantees some time where just the two of you can be present in the moment together. Stay until late by jumping on more rides and enjoying one of their 40+ restaurants and attractions. Tickets required and are $27/person when purchased online. They also have a special VIP experience for $32.49 which provides you with all your digital photos.
Make a nautical memory at the SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium at ICON Park. Do you and your spouse enjoy aquariums and exotic water animals? There’s water life featured from around the world and so much to see and do at SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium. One of our favorite spots to pop the question? The 360-degree ocean tunnel. That would create an unforgettable proposal experience! Tickets required and prices vary by package. We recommend purchasing ‘Double Play’ which will allow you to combine SEA LIFE entry and The Wheel (mentioned above) for $39.95/person. Learn more.
Propose while on an underwater walking tour at Discovery Cove. Create a once in a lifetime memory by asking that important question on the SeaVenture attraction. While wearing a dive helmet, go on a 20-minute excursion through The Grand Reef and get up close and personal with rays and entire schools of fish. (We do recommend that you save the ring for safe-keeping above water to put on her finger after the tour, though!) Discovery Cove has an array of other experiences, including the chance to swim with sharks or dolphins, or the ability to rent a private cabana, so there are plenty of options. This is an upgrade to a Discovery Cove admission for an additional $59/person. Learn more.
If an amusement park isn’t your scene, here are a few more unique engagement ideas.
Go surfing before kissing at Cocoa Beach. In step with the nautical theme, Orlando has incredible Atlantic beach experiences within driving distance. Referred to as the "East Coast Surfing Capital", Cocoa Beach is best known for their surfing and expansive Westgate Cocoa Beach Pier. Spend the day with fun activities like beach volleyball or surfing lessons and then get down on one knee in the sand! Pricing for surf lessons will vary depending on experience level and number of attendees. Learn more.
Walk hand in hand around the Harry P. Leu Gardens. If your future spouse admires all-things gardens, from the fresh air to the fresh flowers, this is one of the best proposal places in Orlando. The best part about a garden-engagement moment is that there isn’t a lot of pressure for a specific time-sensitive moment. Spend the day together enjoying the Florida sunshine, and then propose when the time feels right. Maybe you find yourselves under a pretty gazebo that she particularly loves or choose to create a special moment in front of her favorite flowers. They even have special events like scavenger hunts and movie nights so check the calendar in advance or go ahead and sign up for their monthly newsletter. Tickets are $10/adult. Learn more.
Propose in the Tiffany Chapel at The Morse Museum of American Art. The Morse Museum is one of the best proposal places in Orlando if you consider yourselves to be history buffs. This museum is home to one of the world’s largest collections of Louis Comfort Tiffany, which creates the perfect backdrop fit for a renaissance queen. The Tiffany Chapel features Louis’ ground-breaking glass techniques which were first featured at the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago. Any chance the engagement ring you purchased is from Tiffany & Co.? The chapel was installed by Tiffany & Co. (the jewelry company founded by his father)! Tickets are $6/adult. Learn more.
Make the engagement part of the mystery of an Escape Room. If nothing on this list has felt like the right choice for you, do things very differently with an Escape Room! If you and your significant other are fans of solving mysteries, games or puzzles, then consider creating a private experience at one of the awesome Escape Rooms located in Orlando. The best part is that there are often different themes, so you are likely to find one that feels true to who you are as a couple. Go with your besties or family in tow to make it even more special. Do some research in advance to find the best fit and call the business in advance to see if they can help make your moment more special. Learn more.
We hope that this list with the best proposal places in Orlando was helpful for you.
