Best Jacksonville Engagement Photoshoot Locations

If you’ve recently gotten engaged in Jacksonville, next up is the engagement session! Here are the best Jacksonville engagement photoshoot locations for you and your significant other to consider.

Best Jacksonville Engagement Photoshoot Locations

Since Jacksonville is the most popular city in Florida as well as the largest city in the United States, there are plenty of wonderful spots for an engagement session. From glistening bodies of water, to lush greenery, here are some of the best Jacksonville engagement photoshoot locations.

Best Jacksonville Engagement Photoshoot Locations for Water-Lovers

If you and your significant other want to take advantage of one of Jacksonville’s many bodies of water, here are places to consider for your photos:

Walk through the waterfront gardens of the Cummer Museum Art and Garden. If you’re looking for a European-inspired museum featuring modern art and world-class gardens, the Cummer Museum is one of the best Jacksonville engagement photoshoot locations! Check in advance for photography permit requirements and fees.

829 Riverside Avenue, Jacksonville, Florida 32204

Pose by the shoreline of Boneyard Beach. Located in Big Talbot Island State Park, Boneyard Beach has washed up driftwood spread across 30-foot bluffs which makes it a unique beach engagement session. Head to the northeast corner of the city and enjoy basking in the three miles of semi-private shoreline. And if you’re lucky, dolphins might make an appearance!

14941 Heckscher Drive, Jacksonville, Florida 32226

Stand next to the Bulls Bay Waterfall at the Bulls Bay Preserve. If you’d like to stick with the water theme but don’t want a typical waterfront photoshoot then look no further than the Bulls Bay Preserve. With over 1.2k acres of swamp land, there are plenty of places to get stunning photos. Our favorite? Navigate down the Waterfall loop trail to get to the most accessible waterfall. Pose between the water, woods, and green oasis. (This also made our list for the best proposal spots in ‘Jax’!)

8017 Old Plank Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32220

Dance in front of the Friendship Fountain. If you’re looking for a body of water that isn’t the ocean or a waterfall, then look no further than the Friendship Fountain! This is one of the most popular engagement session spots in the city (and for good reason.) The fountain shoots water up to 120 feet high with 17,000 gallons of water every minute which makes for an impactful photo! And at nighttime, it lights up. Stand in front, do a twirl, and then grab some more photos around the park nearby at St. Johns Riverpark.

1015 Museum Circle Jacksonville Florida 32207

Watch the sunset at Riverfront Park. This park screams ‘Jacksonville’ in the best way possible! Head to St. Johns River in San Marco around dusk and you’ll benefit from the most beautiful sky as a backdrop for your engagement photos. Plus, you will get a great view of downtown Jacksonville.

1800 River Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32207

Lean against the pillars of the Lightner museum. Located outside of Jacksonville, in St. Augustine, the Lightner museum is a very popular engagement spot. This is one of our favorites to shoot at because of the diversity that it provides for photos! Check in advance for photography permit requirements and fees.

75 King Street, Saint Augustine, Florida 32084

Display your fairytale love story at Castle Otttis. We’re going to round out our list with one more spot from Saint Augustine. This historic landmark is fit for any king and queen! This incredible castle features ancient concrete architecture modeled after catholic churches in Ireland and feels like you’ve taken a page from a fairytale story.
